Teameet: What Does It Really Mean to Be a Trusted Advisor?

We hosted a Teameet focused on a central question in consulting: what does it truly mean to be a trusted advisor?

Thank you to Jaakko Sipari, People Lead at SOK, and Marko Voutilainen, Test Automation Lead at Teamit, for insightful and practical talks. The discussion was active throughout the session and continued informally after the official programme.

The evening explored the topic from two perspectives.

From the customer side, Jaakko shared how a true trusted advisor is recognized in practice. Through concrete examples, he described situations where a consultant earns that role and, equally importantly, when they become the first name to rotate out.

From the consultant perspective, Marko walked through the practical path toward trusted advisory. He focused on the mindset, working methods and everyday actions that build credibility and long-term collaboration.

This autumn, we are placing particular emphasis on the craft of consulting at Teamit. We have published the Teamit Consultant Playbook and are hosting a series of Teameets dedicated to developing our consulting capabilities.

If you are interested in how we approach trusted advisory in practice, we are happy to continue the conversation.
